Dorchester County is rich in agricultural, commercial and maritime history. Start your day at LaGrange Plantation, home of Dorchester County Historical Society in Cambridge. Visit the Meredith House, built in 1760, and the Neild Farm Museum showcasing industrial and agricultural artifacts from the county's history, and the herb garden. Discover the extensive collection of Native American artifacts and a collection from the seven Maryland governors hailing from the County.

Enjoy an Eastern Shore style lunch at one of our local restaurants, Snappers Waterfront Cafe, Portside Seafood Restaurant, or Canvasback, or a lunch cruise aboard an authentic paddlewheeler, The Dorothy Megan. Next, travel to the countryside with a stop at Spocott Windmill in Lloyds. There you will see a reconstructed colonial post windmill (Dorchester County was one of the last counties on the east coast where windmills were operated commercially to grind corn), a colonial tenant house dating to 1775, Victorian schoolhouse, smokehouse/blacksmith shop and country store museum.

Finish your visit with a trip to Taylor's Island where you can stop at the General Store, one of the historic churches and at the renowned Old Trinity Church in Church Creek, the oldest Episcopal Church in continuous use in the U.S.
