Volunteers/Internships

Want to get involved in tourism? We've got opportunities for you…

College students are welcome to perform internships at the local museums and Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. Cataloging, research, filing, updating exhibits and fieldwork are among the opportunities available for students to complete their required internships. The refuge and museums are willing to work with the college requirements and accept students on a temporary basis.

Volunteer opportunities are also available to assist these organizations in manning the museums and gift shops. Individuals and area organizations are encouraged to participate in many capacities including weekly maintenance, carpentry, electrical and plumbing repairs, and other routine services required by the museums and Blackwater. If you or your organization has an interest in participating, please contact the Dorchester County Tourism Department, 410-228-1000 or info@tourdorchester.org
